Naranag Temples

Two groups of stone temples in a remote river valley.

The temples at Naranag stand beside the Wangath stream at the foot of Harmukh, a mountain sacred to Shiva. The complex, dedicated to Shiva, was a pilgrimage centre for centuries, and today it is the starting point for treks to the Gangabal lake.

  • The building of the complex is traditionally linked to Lalitaditya, with later additions.
