Sonamarg

The meadow of gold on the old road to Ladakh.

Sonamarg lies in the upper Sindh valley below glaciers and high peaks. It was a stop on the old trade route over the Zoji La pass to Ladakh and Central Asia, and today it is a base for treks to high lakes such as Vishansar and Krishansar.
