Gulmarg

The meadow of flowers, now a ski slope in winter.

Gulmarg is a wide alpine meadow ringed by forest in the Pir Panjal range. It was a summer retreat for royalty and later for British visitors, who built a golf course here, and today it is best known for skiing and one of the highest cable cars in the world.
